Get involved

Four ways in. All of them free.

Mentor, mentee, volunteer, or partner. Every route below takes a few minutes, and we come back to you by email either way.

After you apply

What happens next, as a mentee.

Because cohorts are curated rather than first-come-first-served, there is a gap between applying and hearing back, so here is the sequence.

You applyFill in the mentee application form above. Take the time you need over it.
  • 02
We curate the cohortWe balance the group so it stays ~60% international with no nationality above 25%.
  • 03
Confirmation by emailYou get the date, the meeting point, and the route. If a cohort is full we roll you to the next one.
  • 04
The morning itselfGather at 08:45 (09:30 in December and January), walk, talk, and stay a while afterwards.
After you sign up

What happens next, as a mentor.

Signing up takes about three minutes and commits you to one morning, not the season. If a date stops working, tell us and we move you to another edition.

Questions

Things people ask first.

Anything not covered here, just email us.

?

Is it really free?

Yes, entirely. The programme runs on volunteer time and is designed to be inexpensive enough to stand on its own, so a Saturday morning is all it asks of you.

?

Do I need to be a student?

Anyone curious is welcome. Mentees are typically bachelor’s or master’s students and early-career professionals, and curiosity matters more than enrolment status.

?

Do I need to speak Dutch?

The mornings run in English. Around 60% of every cohort is international, so English is the working language throughout.

?

How fit do I need to be?

A comfortable walking pace is all it takes. Routes are flat, paved, and about 5 km across three segments with breaks in between. Tell us about any access needs on the form and we adapt.

?

What if a cohort is full?

Cohorts are small, so editions do fill. We keep your application on file and offer you the next available morning, so you never need to reapply.

?

Can my company sponsor a hike?

Talk to us. We take partnership support for logistics and venues, but access to the programme is never sold; cohorts stay curated on merit and mix.
